Introducing
32 kilometres south of Auckland’s CBD lies the suburb of Papakura, forming the southernmost part of Auckland’s metropolitan area.
Originally a small, independent city, it only became the Papakura District in 1989 after the reorganisation of New Zealand’s local governments.
Much of the district is located across flat, rolling farmland, which once served a significant military population. It now caters to the SAS Special Forces, and is also a local suburban area for army homes.
As well as hosting a number of restaurants and shopping centres, just south of Papakura, lies a scary house attraction, Spookers Haunted Attraction Theme Park, that runs every Friday & Saturday night. Book in for a night of terrors and laughs - if you dare.
